Candida
C. glabrata and C. albicans are the species of yeast more frequently isolated from clinical specimens of patients with invasive candidiasis. C. glabrata has recently become important because of its increasing incidence worldwide. Candida species have been presumptively identified by the germ tube test; however, studies have indicated that up to 5% of clinical isolates of Candida are germ tube negative. We offer a variety of high performance products for the identification of 70-80% Candida species isolates with faster, more reliable results than the traditional germ tube method.
